Beijing Cultural Heritage Protection Center (CHP)

CHP is a registered Chinese NGO that works at the grass roots level to assist local communities to preserve tangible and intangible local culture through training and capacity building. Key constituencies with which CHP works include children, university students, artists and architects, lawyers, tourism industry representatives, journalists, community leaders, and government bureaucrats and leaders.

The People Photographer
Matthew Kelly
Matthew is a talented photographer and friend of the Courtyard Institute. He specialises in documentary photography and has toured the world for 35 years examining many different cultures through his camera lenses. Since moving to Beijing 8 years ago he has been passionately capturing daily Beijing life. Beijing Postcards
Beijing Postcards is a company that is dedicated to modern Chinese history, with an emphasis on Beijing. They collect visual interpretations of China, such as photographs, prints and maps.
They use these pictures to create their own original products such as postcards, calendars, large reproduction photos and bags. Aside from this Beijing Postcards also presents exhibitions of their pictures and gives talks on various topics related to their collection.
Their work gives you a chance to look at Beijing through different lenses of time and their talks never disappoint in providing interesting stories about this ever changing city.

Amy is a talented architect with a keen interest in building restoration who lives and works in Beijing.
